According to the WFAA, the City of Frisco is getting a Universal Studios Theme Park and Resort.

Called Universal Kids, the new 97-acre kid-friendly theme park (about a quarter of the size of Universal’s park in Orlando) will be located just east of Dallas North Tollway and north of Panther Creek Parkway with a target audience of kids from ages 3 to 9. The park will be designed to be a one-to-two-day experience, and will include four or five different themed lands involving immersive experiences and rides based on Universal movies, and a 300-room hotel.

There is currently no estimated date when the theme park would open, with the building process taking several years.
