Roald Dahl’s classic 80s children’s book Matilda was given the Hollywood movie treatment back in the 90s, then the Broadway musical treatment in 2013.
Now the Warehouse Living Arts Center is putting together a production of Matilda The Musical that opens 7:30 p.m. this Thursday, Nov. 10.
The show runs through the weekend, closing with a matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13.
Per tradition, this is the last big musical of the year for the WLAC, and will be performed on stage at the Palace Theatre located at 112 W. Sixth Avenue.
The cast is filled with talent of all ages including a stable of seasoned local talent along with a whole slew of new talent making their Corsicana debut during this show.
I caught a few numbers of the show last night, and must say that I cannot wait to be able to see the full show once it opens. From elaborate set pieces to huge video backdrops, and all the colorful cast, the WLAC is going all out to put on a great production.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.theWLAC.com, calling the box office at 903-872-5421, or coming by and buying in person at 119 W. Sixth Avenue.
The WLAC Box Office is open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
