An advance screening of the upcoming Isaiah Washington western Corsicana was held at Schulman’s Movie Bowl Grille this past weekend. Washington’s directorial debut, the film centers on Deputy United States Marshal Bass Reeves, as he joins up with a former partner to track down Jack Donner and his gang of murderous fugitives.

Saturday’s screening was a private event for employees of the City of Corsicana, as well as the production staff, local cast, and crew who worked on the film. The local preview featured light h’ordeuvres and a Corsicana film-themed wine, as well as an introduction by Mark Schulman, Owner of Schulman‘s Movie Bowl Grille, writer and producer Robert Johnson, and producer Amber McNutt.

The world premiere of Corsicana takes place today in Houston, with the film running in select theaters starting tomorrow. The film will see a wider release in more theaters stating Sept. 9, before coming to screaming platforms such as YouTube and Amazon in February.

Once the embargo lifts, a review of Corsicana will be available on the Navarro County Gazette.
