From Staff Reports
Corsicana ISD Boys Varsity Soccer team continues to play their hearts out until the whistle blows and the game is over. That strategy, coupled with hard work, training, communication, determination, the will and hunger to win, has helped them move forward to the playoffs. After claiming a victory and defeating Waco University in a 2-1 victory at Waco Stadium.
Tiger forward Isaac Arredondo’s heroics were illustrated after scoring both goals and eliciting pandemonium from the Corsicana crowd as the ball crossed the goal line and swooshed past the goalie.
The Tigers move on to play Highland Park in the bi-district round of the playoffs on Friday, March 25. Corsicana ISD Coach Adrian Zamilpa says their journey has been fun mixed with learning experiences. “The entire team played great,” Zamilpa said. “They are staying focused and will continue to give everything they got into the game.”
Coach Zamilpa is inviting the community to cheer on the Tigers this Friday in Highland Park at Highlander Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
