What We Are Certain Of:

  • Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop by Monday morning, spreading east through the day Monday.
  • Nearly everybody will see at least some rainfall.
  • The flood threat should be low, though some minor flooding may be possible anywhere locally heavy rain occurs.
  • The severe weather threat is expected across mainly Central and East Texas.

What We Are Less Certain Of:

  • How far north and west the severe weather threat will extend.  A slower storm system could result in the severe threat reaching farther north and west than currently forecast.
  • How significant the tornado threat will be. Some areas across Central Texas could see a greater tornado threat develop if thunderstorm coverage is a bit less.
  • Rainfall amounts. In general, most people can expect between one-half and one inch of rain, but locally higher amounts are expected.
