The Navarro College Wind Ensemble & Symphonic Band along with the NC Characters will be performing Story Time, a youth themed concert and performance piece, to the public at 6 p.m. March 10 in the Cook Education Center. The Cook Center is located on the Navarro College Campus at 3100 W Collin St, Corsicana, TX.
Conducted by Joshua Buckrucker and Tim Nutting, and choreographed by Shellie O’Neal and Julie Mitchell, Story Time will feature works of Kliensinger, Watson, Pierson, and more. While pieces are played, students from the Navarro Theatre program will act out skits of Aesop’s Fables.
The music tells the classic story of “Tubby the Tuba” a children’s book that describes how a tuba overcomes his fear of being in the spotlight. In the end, the band will perform a bombastic and energetic piece depicting the volcanic Moon of Jupiter, IO.
“We are so excited about our Children’s themed concert titled ‘Story Time'” says Director of Navarro College Bands, Joshua Buckrucker. “We are performing for all CISD elementary schools on Tuesday, March 8 and for all community members Thursday March 10! You definitely want to come see and hear our theater and band perform some wonderfully engaging art! It will be amazing!“
