The Corsicana High School Tigers roar after a ferocious win at the Michael D. White Blooming Grove Powerlifting Meet. CHS student athletes have been preparing mentally and physically throughout the school year to be ready for their powerlifting competitions in the squat, bench, and deadlift events.

“Corsicana High School is very proud of these young men for their commitment and hard work,” said CHS Coach Darrell Thompson. “All the student athletes from CHS did a great job representing CISD.” 

The Corsicana High School boys powerlifting team placed first at the powerlifting meet. Carl Harris won first place in the super heavy weight division. Evan Owen finished first in the 198-pound weight class. Benjamin Brooks finished second in the 220-pound weight class. Kevin Cano finished second in the 181-pound weight class. Sergio Ramirez finished in fourth place in the 198-pound weight class. Tyler McClendon and Leo Cruz finished third in their respected weight classes. Curtis Gatewood received fifth place, and Ja’Shawne Hillsman finished in eighth place in the 148-weight class.
