From Staff Reports
Corsicana Automotive Technology students competed in the Skills USA District 6 Championships at Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas and we are thrilled to recognize their accomplishments.
– Wyatt Ware placed First in the Diesel Equipment Technology category
– Omar Hernandez placed Second in the Automotive Service Technology category
– Jacob Ogaz placed Second in the Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair category
Under the leadership of Corsicana High School instructor Michael Schmidt, the Automotive Technology program has earned district and state winning titles, and they are back at it again this year. These three Tigers are headed to state.
“We have the best of the best; I know they are going to show up ready to compete at the State Championship. Win or lose, they have experienced growth in their skills, and I am extremely proud of these young men for their tenacious work ethic,” said Michael Schmidt.
Our Automotive Technology classes are one of the many Career and Technical Education programs offered at CHS (Corsicana High School). Students can explore career pathways that help prepare them for life after high school graduation, and it fills us with extreme pride when our students have the chance to apply the knowledge they have learned.
Ware, Hernandez, and Ogaz will represent Corsicana High School at the Skills USA State Championships in Corpus Christi, Texas from March 31 through April 3.
