Fast food diners will have a new, but familiar location to eat next month with the opening of a new Jack in the Box restaurant, located at 2004 W. Seventh Avenue, the home of the former Long John Silver’s.

While the new eatery is scheduled to open by mid-March, the original restaurant, located at 1739 W. Seventh Avenue, has been part of the community for nearly 49 years. Once construction is complete, the restaurant will move its operations across the street to its new location.

The current Jack in the Box restaurant, located in the commercial business area once commonly known as the Golden Circle Shopping Center, held its grand opening on Saturday September 29, 1973. The eatery is the last of the early era original businesses still in operation.
