A benefit fundraiser for Pattie and Hunter Freeman will take place 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12 at the VFW Post, located at 4609 W. State Hwy 31. The Freeman family were among the victims in last Saturday’s shooting that took five lives and left three injured.
There will be multiple ways to donate at the event, including $10 barbecue plates, multiple 50/50 ticket drawings, and a $10 8-ball double elimination pool tournament. Sign-up for the tournament is at 6:30 p.m. with a 7 p.m. start time. Winners will receive a trophy as all money and donations will go to the family.
The funds raised will cover medical and funeral expenses, as Pattie Freeman is currently hospitalized, and her son Hunter passed away during the incident. All monetary donations will be sent to an account at Community National Bank in Corsicana.
