From Staff Reports

The James Blair Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently celebrated its 95th birthday.

The James Blair Chapter in Navarro County was organized Dec. 24, 1926, with Mrs. Rose Blair Polk as the organizing regent. For the anniversary celebration, porcelain dolls representing the eleven founders were displayed.

Becky Stuart Gandy started the meeting citing an inspirational history of the beginning of our chapter:

“Strong as steel
Soft as a petal
A rocky path
Only one step to another.”

Members told of their individual patriot and placed a silhouette on a beautiful tree with eagle ornaments. A birthday cake was served to members.
