The Corsicana Fine Arts department presents their production of High School Musical, running 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Dec. 4. The performances will run at the CHS Performing Arts Center, located at 3701 E. State Hwy 22 in the Corsicana High School building.

The musical, based off the Disney Channel Original Movie, focuses on a high school basketball captain and a shy transfer student breaking free from their traditional school cliques to take part in East High School’s production of Romeo and Juliet.

The production stars Adrian Baston, Brooke Snodgrass, Graham Conklin, Erin Jones, and Brandon Carlisle alongside a series of theater students and newcomers who have, according to show director and theatre teacher Alyssa Bain, have never performed on the stage before.

“I came to CHS with a plan to rebuild the fine arts musical and recruit different students from different clubs,” said Bain. “What better show to achieve that with than High School Musical? Our production showcases every student’s own talents and brings them all together to create a fun and energetic story!”

The show takes a “life imitating art” approach, truly bringing together the students of Corsicana High School in one large ensemble cast.

“These kids have poured their hearts into every second of this show and it’s very evident from lights up to final bows,” Bain said. “I urge everyone in our community to purchase their tickets now and join us for a show they won’t soon forget.”

Admission for the show is $5 for students, $10 for general, and $15 for reserved, and can be purchased at the door, or by e-mailing abain@cisd.org for tickets.
