By John F. Kaiser III – Navarro County Gazette

The air was crisp, but not too cold. Live music filled the air. Crowds of people walked about taking it all in; the lights, the rides, the vendors, the splendor of it all. Last night, November 19, Corsicana held it’s annual tree lighting ceremony downtown and from what I was able to see, a good amount of people turned out for the event.

Much more than just a giant lit tree and some fireworks, there were rides, axe throwing, and a giant inflatable slide. The Taco Station Food Truck was there, vendor booths were set up, and people were walking around selling light-up toys and balloons that could be seen from any vantage point as they illuminated everywhere they went. Even the cast from CHS’s High School: The Musical came out and performed, sharing their talent and promoting their upcoming production.

We would love to see your photos from the event! Feel free to share in the comments on our Facebook & Twitter!
