EDITORS NOTE: Corsicana Police Department has arrested the suspect and taken him into custody.

On Sept. 21, the Corsicana Police Department was contacted in regards to two aggravated robberies occurring within a short period of time with the same suspect being involved. The first aggravated robbery occurred at the Valero store, 2500 W. Seventh Avenue at approximately 8:31 p.m. Dispatch was contacted at 8:32 p.m. in regards to that robbery.

While officers were working the scene, dispatch received a second 911 call reporting another aggravated robbery. This robbery occurred at the Comfort Inn, 1946 MLK Boulevard. Dispatch was contacted in regards to the second robbery at 21:01 hours.

After detectives and officers observing footage and obtaining descriptions from the victims, they were able to determine it was the same suspect in both robberies.

In both robberies the suspect displayed a handgun and threatened the clerks with it. The suspect was described as a black male with highlighted blonde dreadlocks in ponytails on the side of his head, wearing a black facemask with a black T-shirt, black shorts, and black and white tennis shoes.

The description of the suspect was placed on Facebook by a citizen. CPD Dispatch received a tip stating that there was a Facebook post of the B/M involved in the robbery, and gave officers and detectives information that helped them identify the suspect.

The suspect was identified as Octavious Brown, 29-year-old B/M. A warrant was obtained on Brown for aggravated robbery. Brown is considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Brown please contact Detective Whitney Hawk at 903-654-4914. If you see the suspect, please do not approach him and call 911 immediately.
