The Daughters of the American Revolution will have an award presentation 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 at Kinsloe House located at located at 618 W. 3rd Avenue. The award is a very prestigious medal to be presented to Joe Hill, retired Navy Captain.

The DAR organization provides this unique opportunity to honor worthy individuals for outstanding patriotism in the promotion of our American ideals of God, Home, and Country through faithful and meritorious service to the community, state, or nation. The recipients are recognized on their qualifications for leadership, trustworthiness, patriotism, and service that goes far beyond one’s normal obligations or duties.
