From Staff Reports

The Navarro County Genealogical Society will be having a meeting 10 a.m. Sept 11 in the Genealogy Center at the Corsicana Library, located at 100 N 12th Street. The group will be sharing ideas how to build a family tree, and is intended to be a good old round table discussion. Guests are encouraged to bring ideas to share, and pick up some new ideas to take home. The public is welcome, and does not have to be a member of the organization to attend.

“Pioneers of Navarro County.”

The Navarro County Genealogical Society has a new program to recognize local early Pioneers. If residents have documentation that their ancestry arrived in present day Navarro County by 1870 or prior, they can apply for a Pioneer Certificate. It is a fund raiser for the society. Cost is $40 per certificate.

Come by the Liz Gillispie Genealogy Department at the Corsicana Library, or call 903-654-4808 for more information.
