“Celebrating A Legacy,” a special G. W. Jackson Multicultural Society event honoring and celebrating G. W. Jackson’s birthday, will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday Aug. 13 at the Cook Education Center, located on the Navarro College campus at 3100 W Collin St. in Corsicana. Those interested in attending can reserve their tickets here. Attendee donations to the Legacy Park project will be entry into the event. Credit cards or checks are accepted.

The guest presenter for the event will be Ron Maxfield who will be speaking from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – Maxfield has created numerous miniatures of Corsicana’s prominent historic buildings, and will be showcasing one of his dioramas. Maxfield will also be discussing the research that went into this tribute of our local African-American community’s rich history.

The event is an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the Legacy Park project that is being built in conjunction with the City.
