Dear readers,
You may (or may not) know that I am NOT a water dog. My breed was bred for royalty and majestic lap sitting, which I am perfect at. BUT I do love lounging on a pool float, and that’s exactly what I plan to do at Pooch Paddle 2021!
Join me and the Humane Society of Navarro County 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 1 at Jester Park Pool for fun in the sun! It is $5 for every dog/human combo, and 100 percent of the proceeds benefit the HSNC’s low cost spay/neuter program.
The last time the HSNC was able to host Pooch Paddle was way back in 2019, so they are so excited that pooch paddle is back. There will be doggy floats available to rent and I heard that our local Aldi’s was selling doggy life jackets!
To make sure everyone has a wonderful time, the humans suggest that dogs are socialized, friendly, vaccinated and be four months or older. They advise against bringing heart worm positive dogs. Us pooches also want to keep our hu-moms and dads safe, so if you are feeling unwell or have been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 14 days, please stay home.
Thank you to Sharla Allen and the Corsicana Parks & Rec Department for allowing us to have such a wonderful event at the park pool. This is always a crowd favorite event!
If you have any questions, please contact the folks (like my mom, Erin) over at the Humane Society of Navarro County by calling 903-875-1060 or emailing them at admin@thehsnc.org.
See you on August 1! – Ducky
