Last week the Warehouse Youth Theatre Company (WYTC) traveled down to Bastrop to attend the Texas Non-Profit Theatre Youth Conference.

The TNT Youth Conference is a multi-day event that celebrates young people’s involvement in the performing arts and provides them with workshops and a means to meet and network with members of other youth theatre organizations from around the state and see other youth productions. All this culminates with an awards ceremony, which Corsicana’s own Warehouse Youth Theatre Company took home a few of these.

While the Warehouse Living Arts Center offers classes and camps throughout the year, the TNT Youth Conference is a special experience that is cherished by those who get to attend.

This year a number of the WYTC received awards, both as a collective and individually, including David Hill, who not only directed this years play entry, but also worked with TNT to help organize the big event. Let’s give a big round of applause for our local talent and their achievements last week!

  • Outstanding Achievement in Ensemble Work for their production of The BFG: A Set of Plays
  • Excellence in Costume Design – Samantha Stewart, for her work in the design workshop
  • Honorable Mention: Musical Theatre Ensemble – Erin Jones, Bailey Cook, Jadyn Gillen
  • Honorable Mention: Monologue – Erin Jones
  • Gilmore Spirit Award – Lane Fowler and Carson Hoover
  • Show Choir Selection – Jadyn Gillen, Carson Hoover, and Erin Jones
  • Linda Lee Leadership Award – David Hill

The Warehouse Living Arts Center relies on the donations and support from the community to be able to send the WYTC to the TNT Youth Conference each year. If you would like to help support these efforts you can donate below. Every little bit helps!
