The Outdoor Painters Society PAINT OUT is hosted by the Navarro Council of the Arts in the Warehouse Living Arts Center Gallery
By John F. Kaiser III – Navarro County Gazette
Between Friday and Saturday, over fifty artists, members of the Outdoor Painters Society, descended upon Corsicana and painted various scenes from around town. Their first stop was the Corsicana Visitors Center where they picked up their welcome packets. Braving the chill and the rain, they set off to one of the following locations to set up their easels and get to work:

• The Corsicana Visitors Center
• Mills Place
• Pearce Museum
• Carriage District
• Rancho Santo Nino
• JTJ Ranch
• Palace Theatre
• Warehouse Living Arts Center
• Corsicana Post Office
• Navarro County Courthouse
• First United Methodist Church
• St. John Episcopal Church
• Bluebonnets
Businesses and homes opened up their doors to these “plein air” artists giving them food, drink, and places to rest as they traveled from location to location putting their unique vision of Corsicana to canvas.
On Saturday, April 17 2021, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm artists and art lovers alike gathered at the Warehouse Living Arts Center where over 50 paintings were on display. As the event progressed little red stickers dotted the landscape as one by one the pieces were sold. There are still some available, so if you were unable to make it to the event you can visit the WLAC gallery Monday through Friday, from 10:00am to 3:00pm at 119 W 6th Avenue, Corsicana, Texas, where they will be on display for the next week.

Congratulations to Laura Briseno for winning the People’s Choice Award for her painting “The Arts District”!
