From Staff Reports

The Navarro County Office of Emergency Management and other weather sources are advising of an additional winter weather storm to include snow, sleet, freezing rain, and freezing temperatures. To ensure the safety of Navarro College staff and students, College administration has made the decision to continue the college closure through Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021.

Due to rolling blackouts, IT has determined that we cannot return our servers to normal operation at this time. As a result, Canvas and Self-Service are not accessible. Faculty have been asked to push assignment due dates to next week, including online courses. You will be notified when servers have been restored.

Student housing and dining services will remain available to residential life students. However, services are limited due to disruption of statewide water and electrical services. Due to the statewide emergency, the electric company is not able to provide an estimate regarding when or how long until power is restored. We expect additional outages. We realize these circumstances are not ideal, but Navarro College is working 24/7 to provide food, safety and shelter through planned hot meals and snacks, warming and charging locations, and ongoing communication through multiple channels.

The following contact numbers are available for help in the event of an issue.

  • Housing On-Call Phone 903.654.2778 – 24/7 number for assistance with pressing matters related to housing, including after-hours maintenance emergencies.
  • Campus Police 903.654.3999 – 24/7 number for matters requiring police assistance.
  • For major and medical emergencies, call 911.
