Window party provides encouragement, positivity
By Guy Chapman – Navarro County Gazette
Friends, family, and co-workers gathered for a surprise “window party” at 5 p.m. this evening to lift the spirits of Navarro College District Coordinator of Academic Success, Nancy Chaney.

Chaney has been a patient at Navarro Regional Hospital for over a week, recovering from the symptoms of COVID-19. As supporters and well wishers stood in the hospital’s parking lot, family called Chaney to the window and did a video chat with her via phone. Fellow Navarro College staff held up handmade signs, while others raised letters to form a message of “We Love U Nancy” for Chaney to see from her hospital room window.
The Chaney family appreciated the community support, and advised people to use common sense when it comes to taking preventative measures regarding COVID-19.
COVID-19 cases have been growing in numbers throughout Navarro County the last few weeks. According to the Kinsa HeathWeather website, the current illness spread in Navarro County is listed as 97 percent as of Jan. 5.
