Direct deposits to continue into next week

Americans can start looking forward to a small amount of financial relief as soon as today as the Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service have confirmed the federal government’s second round of stimulus checks are being sent out immediately.
The checks are part of a COVID-19 relief package signed on Sunday, providing individuals who meet income limits of anyone who made under $75,000 as an individual, or $150,000 as a couple would receive the full amount. Individuals will receive $600, while couples who meet the income limits will receive $1,200. Eligible families will receive an additional $600 per child.
The direct deposits will continue into next week, while paper checks will be mailed out beginning Wednesday.
While there had been talks of increasing the relief limit to $2,000 per individual, discussions have stalled in the Senate, with the increased amount’s future now uncertain, if not unlikely.
For those who want to check on the status of their second stimulus check, the IRS has a webpage where individuals can check their current status.
