As Christmas Eve falls upon us, there was a once upon a time when newspapers took a breather for just one day. News of the world began to fade away, and businesses shifted their messaging from last minute sales to declarations of goodwill. It’s as if the world itself faded away for one restful moment. A moment of pause, focusing exclusively on the messaging of peace, love, community, family, friendship, and something even deeper that comes from within us all.

And with that moment, we set aside ourselves, our differences, our distractions, for something higher. This has been a challenging year, but we managed come together during a very difficult time.

Today’s story brings no greater message than to simply read the greetings below and reflect on a collection of goodwill, comfort, and joy from the very people who make up our daily lives. Our family. Our friends. Our neighbors. Let this be a quiet moment to simply read the spirit of good intent.

From the Navarro County Gazette family to yours, thank you for taking the time to share your stories, and for finding a place for us on your own screens and in your homes.
