PRESS RELEASE: Based on the increase in services already provided during 2020 in response to the pandemic, The Salvation Army of Corsicana could serve up to 155 percent more people this Christmas. This includes putting food on the table, paying bills, providing clothing vouchers and helping place gifts under the tree.
This year The Salvation Army could see up to a 50 percent decrease in funds raised nationally through the red kettles, which would limit its capability to provide services for the most vulnerable. That is why the organization is reaching out to friends and partners in the community to share this exciting opportunity to come together in supporting our local community.
This year The Salvation Army of Corsicana will be celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas. Starting on Dec. 12 and continuing all the way to Dec. 24, businesses and groups have an opportunity to partner with The Salvation Army of Corsicana in helping to Rescue Christmas for those in Navarro County. While their iconic kettles are placed throughout the city ringing, the organization is inviting you to become part of their Army of Hope by picking a day and making a donation for the corresponding amount. Then, on the day you pick your business or group, every kettle stand county wide will be dedicated to you.
The days and amounts are as follows: $250 for a day in the range of Dec. 12-22, $500 for our second busiest kettle day of the year, Dec. 23; and $1,000 for their busiest kettle day of the year, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve.
