From Staff Reports

UPDATE: The Navarro County Gazette was recently informed the debut of Brass Transit has been delayed, and will now premiere in the 2021-2022 holiday season. We apologize to our readers for any inconvenience.

In a world of constant changes, the Palace Theatre is adapting to make sure our community has a chance to relax and enjoy a fun holiday concert during an untraditional 2020. While we wish we could be in the beautiful Palace to celebrate the season with bi-weekly holiday shows, the Palace has decided to forge ahead and present their Christmas concert at the Corsicana High School Auditorium, 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17.

Several years ago, the Palace welcomed the number one Chicago tribute band in the North America to our stage, and audiences requested more! Brass Transit rocked our stage to a sold-out crowd and their holiday show seemed like the perfect show to celebrate the season in 2020.

Q: What happens when eight in-demand musicians and singers gather out of a common love for one of the most successful pop/rock groups of all time?

A: Brass Transit – a dynamic, crowd-pleasing, studio-tight powerhouse, and the world’s foremost Chicago tribute! An indication of the band’s authenticity and high-level musicianship: Chicago’s current ranks already include one longtime veteran of Brass Transit!

Brass Transit was formed in 2008, its accomplished, award-winning roster intent on paying tribute to the decades-long, multi platinum songbook of Chicago. Since 2008, Brass Transit has toured North America steadily, dazzling audiences with flawless performances and spectacular attention to detail. Hits like, Saturday In The Park, 25 or 6 To 4, If You Leave Me Now, Feelin’ Stronger Every Day, and You’re The Inspiration have left crowds in awe, inspiring multiple standing ovations and comments like: “Spine-Tingling!” “Brought me back to my youth!” and “Perfect in every detail!”

Brass Transit goes far beyond just replicating the songs; they embody the music. They recently produced their first (self-titled) album, taking songs by other top rock artists from the seventies and recording them with horns in the Chicago style. The result is a fresh approach to some of the greatest hits of the era. They also recently scored their show for full symphony orchestra with original arrangements that are truly spellbinding. What better way to celebrate Christmas 2020 than with a full brass section combining the greatest hits of Chicago and the holiday season? EXTREMELY limited seating is available at CHS auditorium due to social distancing regulations, as ticket purchases will observe a 6-foot rule.

Tickets may be purchased at www.corsicanapalace.com.

Doors to the concert open at 7 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Corsicana High School auditorium. All safety regulations will be enforced.

This concert is graciously underwritten by: The Moran Family Foundation, J. Tom Eady Charitable Trust, Katherine Carmody Trust, JN and Macie Edens Foundation, Annie Lee Robbins Charitable Trust, EM Sheppard Foundation, Community National Bank and Trust, Guardian Industries Corp, and the Corsicana Visitors Bureau.
