By John McAdams – Special to the Navarro County Gazette
I have to start off by saying The Cotton Harvest Festival for this October as been cancelled due to safety concerns for our volunteers and guests. COVID-19 has had such a terrible effect on everything, but the library is open for visitors. All
visitors must wear masks while inside the library and use the furnished hand sanitizer both entering and leaving the library. Social distancing is also required.
We have two of our internet computers turned on, one on each table so that gives plenty of distance between users. Children 12 and under are allowed in with a parent and the parent must stay with the children at all times. As before, books and DVDs are available for checkout.
We have the latest books by John Grisham, David Baldacci, Elin Hilderbrand, Sue Monk Kidd and Julia Spiro. We
also have some new large print westerns by William W. Johnstone, Peter Brandvold, Frank Leslie, James Reasoner and Frank Massey. We have the quilt that is being raffled off, and all proceeds go to the library.
Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Come and see this beautiful quilt and buy some tickets.
We still have copies of Ivan Vernon’s book 101 Stories about Kerens, Elm Flatt and Nearby Communities. They are $35 each, and if one needs to be mailed, the total is $42.00. Cash, check, credit, or debit cards are welcome. Ivan was kind enough to let us publish it and all proceeds go to the Kerens Library.
That’s all I have for now except to say: Come see us.
